Here’s some interesting information about the performance of ethanol-blended fuel.
"Ask the racecar drivers at NASCAR®, who all use ... E15 in their gas tanks and find it gives them more horsepower and lower emissions.
You’ll also find ethanol in the planes of the Vanguard Squadron, an elite stunt plane team. Flying mere feet apart with split-second timing, stalls and vapor lock are not an option. They literally trust their lives to ethanol.
Called “The Greatest Show on H2O,” The Catfish Bay Water-ski Show in Sioux Falls performs breathtaking stunts while being pulled by ethanol-powered boats. With as many as 30 water skiers in a formation, power, control and consistency are essential."

A statement from:
Mike Opdahl
United Ethanol manager of ethanol operations
1250 Chicago St.
Milton, WI 53563
“There are no words to describe the sadness I feel about the events that have happened today. It has recently been confirmed that one of our fellow employees, Jerod Guell, has passed away from being trapped in a grain engulfment. Our employees train and train to prevent things like this from happening, and it is hard to believe that it actually has.
A small group of employees has visited Jerrod’s family to tell them, in person, the tragic result that came of today’s events. We’re very concerned about his family and his fellow United Ethanol employees, so we’ve contacted resources to help with counseling. Please keep us all in your thoughts and prayers as we work with emergency services to piece together today’s activities, and most importantly, as we mourn the loss of this beloved family member, our fellow employee … and friend.”
Note: Jerod Guell is from Janesville, Wis.
